These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Live Scoreboard website, web application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Live Scoreboard ("we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

Live Scoreboard is a web-based basketball scoreboard service operated by Suniel Nah (Sole Proprietor) that allows users to:

  • Control game scores, timers, and quarters via a mobile or desktop browser
  • Display a real-time scoreboard on another device (tablet, TV, or browser)
  • Share access via links or QR codes

The Service is provided entirely through web technologies and does not require dedicated hardware or app installation.

2. Accounts and Authentication

2.1 Account Creation

  • Some features of the Service may require creating an account using Firebase Authentication (including third-party login providers).
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

2.2 Anonymous Use

  • Certain parts of the Service may be available without account registration.
  • Data created without an account may be temporary and subject to automatic deletion.

3. User Content and Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you create or input into the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Team names
  • Scores
  • Game configurations

We do not claim ownership over your content.

However, by using the Service, you grant us a limited right to store, process, and display this data solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Engage in unlawful activities
  • Disrupt or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or rooms
  • Use the Service in a way that causes excessive load or abuse

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if these rules are violated.

5. Plans, Payments, and Billing

5.1 Free and Paid Plans

Live Scoreboard may offer both free and paid features. The features available for each plan are described on our website or within the Service.

5.2 Payments via Paddle

All payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record.

This means:

  • Paddle is responsible for payment processing, invoicing, taxes (including VAT), and refunds
  • Your payment information is handled directly by Paddle, not by Live Scoreboard
  • By purchasing a paid plan, you also agree to Paddle's Terms and Privacy Policy.

5.3 Subscriptions and Renewals

If you purchase a subscription:

  • It will automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription through Paddle's checkout or customer portal

5.4 Refund Policy

Free Plans

Free plans do not require payment and are not eligible for refunds.

Subscription Plans

If you are not satisfied with the Service, you may request a refund for your first subscription purchase within 30 days of the initial payment date. Refunds apply only to the first billing period. Subsequent renewals are non-refundable.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the next billing date. Cancelling a subscription prevents future charges but does not refund the current billing period.

One-Time Purchases (If Applicable)

For one-time purchases, refunds may be requested within 14 days of purchase, provided that the purchased feature has not been used.

Payment Processing and Refund Method

All payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Approved refunds will be issued by Paddle to the original payment method used at checkout. Cash refunds are not available.

Chargebacks

We have a zero-tolerance policy for abusive chargebacks. Any account associated with a chargeback for a valid charge may be suspended or permanently banned from using the Service. If you believe a charge was made in error, please contact us before initiating a chargeback.

6. Service Availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We strive to maintain high availability, but we do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Real-time synchronization will always be instantaneous

Temporary downtime may occur due to updates, maintenance, or network conditions.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages
  • This includes loss of data, loss of revenue, or interruption of games or events

Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • Continued operation would pose legal or technical risk

Termination does not affect any rights or obligations accrued prior to termination.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the Service or website. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of law principles.
